22nd Annual GLAAD Media Award Nominees Announced
Early this morning, The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamtion (GLAAD) announced the nominees for its 22nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards. “By recognizing and honoring media for outstanding images of the LGBT community, the GLAAD Media Awards serve as a benchmark for the media industry and complement GLAAD’s work to bring LGBT images and stories to Americans.” This is a special year for GLAAD as it marks the organization’s 25th anniversary.
GLAAD announced 114 nominees in 23 English-language categories, and 33 Spanish-language nominees in 9 categories.
Among the nominees: Lisa Cholodenko‘s The Kids Are All Right, The Girl Who Played with Fire, HBO’s acclaimed drama True Blood, Fox’s hit show Glee, ABC’s hit comedy Modern Family, NBC’s hit sitcom 30 Rock, Essence.com’s “Bridal Bliss: Aisha and Danielle,” and Chely Wright.
