The Slope: “Miserable Animals,” “Pretty People” and “Queer Programming” (Episodes 1-3)

The Slope is a comedy that follows the lives of a lesbian couple navigating their way through modern-day Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Desiree Akhavan and Ingrid Jungermann created and star in the series, which begins one year into their relationship. Ingrid and Desiree continue to hash out a power dynamic that ends up making them look homophobic, superficial and, ultimately, perfect for one another.

On the first episode, Ingrid and Desiree argue over the use of the word “gay.”

Ingrid and Desiree get honest with each other about their looks.

On episode 3, Ingrid and Desiree disagree over The Real L Word.

By the way, I feel like Desiree and Ingrid are my BFFs. Like, I’m them, and I know people like them. AKA loving The Slope.

Check back soon for a new episode. In the meantime, check out their blog.
