“Sometimes we want television to offer profound and moving insights into the human condition. And sometimes we just want to see an attractive woman kicking guys in the head.”
Especially if said woman happens to have legs for days.
Sure, we have several shows with hot female agents on TV, but Nikita may be the one that fills the gap in our hearts since Buffy and Sydney Bristow left our living rooms.
Before you start flaming, I am not implying that Nikita is a better, hotter or smarter agent that Sarah Walker, Olivia Dunham or Helena Magnus. But those women are not the focus of their shows like Nikita is. OK?
Nikita is a sequel, of sorts, to La Femme Nikita, with a new Nikita, played by Maggie Q, to replace the now rogue original. According to reviewers who have seen screeners, Maggie Q immediately establishes her own unique presence in the role. TV Guide says she “has the seductive self-assurance of Angelina Jolie.” Plus, of course, she looks incredibly gorgeous kicking butt in a tight dress.
