“Nurse Jackie” Season 2 trailer: Sex, drugs and a lesbian relationship for Julia Ormond

With speculation gearing up about a lesbian romance in Season 2 of Nurse Jackie, waiting until March 22 is getting harder and harder. And we’ve just received a tidbit from showrunner Linda Wallem that has only heightened our anticipation.

As previously reported, Julia Ormond has a three-episode arc on Nurse Jackie this season. She plays “an international reporter who has a relationship with one of the cast members.”

Coincidentally, the promised gay love triangle also lasts three episodes. Hmm.

We asked Wallem about this little “coincidence,” and she confirmed that Julia Ormond’s character will indeed be in a lesbian relationship in the new season. It’s not like we really needed another to reason to watch, but we’ll take it!

Showtime has released an extended promotional video for the upcoming season to tide us over. But first, let’s review where we last saw Jackie (Edie Falco) via an interview with showrunners — and out lesbians — Wallem and Liz Brixius.

Sure enough, Jackie has bounced back, apparently, although I’m sure we’ll see consequences of her actions throughout the season.

If you missed Season 1 of Nurse Jackie, mark your calendar for Feb. 23, when the DVD will be released, complete with commentaries and special features like “All About Edie.”

Are you looking forward to a new season of Nurse Jackie? Which of the cast members do you think will play Ormond’s female lover?
