“Bones” hopes to bring the Deschanel sisters together

Dear Television Gods, I don’t ask for a lot from you. OK, that’s a lie – I asked you to save Pushing Daisies and Dollhouse and Chuck last season. You came through on two out of three. But that means you still owe me a solid. So I really don’t think it would be too much for me to ask for this now: Please make the Emily and Zooey Deschanel Bones pairing happen.

Zooey is currently in talks to guest star with older sister Emily on her show, Bones, sometime in December. Series executive producer Hart Hanson told Entertainment Weekly‘s Michael Ausiello that, “We’ve been looking for an opportunity to get the Deschanel girls together, but Zooey’s rockin’ career kept getting in the way.”

Zooey can be currently seen onscreen in the indie romance (500) Days of Summer and is next set to star in the medieval comedy Your Highness alongside Natalie Portman and James Franco. Production is currently underway in Ireland and is schedule to finish by the end of October.

Emily, meanwhile, has been staring studiously at human remains since 2005 as Dr. Temperance Brennan on the Fox forensics show Bones. The fifth season premieres Sept. 17 with very special and very awesome guest star Cyndi Lauper appearing as a psychic.

The Deschanel sisters have never co-starred together on screen, but often appear at each other’s premieres and events. Assuming the scheduling can be worked out, Hanson wants Zooey to play, appropriately, a relative of Brennan’s: “We alluded to [her] having a cousin in Minnesota two seasons ago. I’d very much like to meet her in the Christmas episode.”

So, like I was saying Television Gods, please make this happen. I’m not above making sacrificial offerings. I would be willing to give you every single show on the CW (except Gossip Girl – StuntDouble would get mad) in return. Your faithful servant, Ms. Snarker.
