This just in (via the The Hollywood Reporter): The Nine (ABC), Men in Trees (ABC), and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (NBC) have all received orders for additional scripts (so has ABC’s group therapy sitcom Help Me Help You, but who cares, that show sucks). No full-season orders, but it’s a start.
Men in Trees is growing on me – Anne Heche is a good comedic actress, and the town prostitute is a fox – and I like Studio 60, if Aaron would just lay off the heavy-handed social messages, and let Amanda Peet and Sarah Paulson have more screen time together.
But I love The Nine. Really. It’s on the top of my must-see list every week. I lie in bed at night wondering, what really happened in during the bank robbery? Okay, that’s not true. I’m usually too busy worrying about how I’m going to find any lesbian entertainment news to write about in my Best. Lesbian. Week. Ever. column this week without resorting to covering The Howard Stern Show. But I do like The Nine a lot (if you haven’t seen it yet, ABC is streaming it online for free). Kim Raver and Tim Daly are great as the uptight lawyer and fed-up cop, Lourdes Benedicto makes Eva Rios both appealing and annoying at the same time, and if don’t like Egan Foote (pictured, right), something’s seriously wrong with you. Uh, no offense.
