Ezria goes to the DiLaurentis house to snoop for clues, and they find a locked chest in Ali’s bedroom. Aria assumes it’s sex toys, but before they can check Rollins comes home and Eria hides in the closet. They watch as Rollins takes a key from a wall sconce, opens the chest, and pulls out a backpack and a BLACK HOODIE. This seems like a real indicator of guilt, right? Does it come up again? NOPE. Rollins also grabs his old timey doctor bag, complete with a shiny bone saw that’s perfect for menacing. Ezria sneaks out the window and huddles together, like always.
Back at Casa Hastings, Spencer calls Caleb and offers to bring him lunch while he’s on his stake-out. Caleb hangs up on her, because he’s DOING IMPORTANT MAN THINGS, GOSH SPENCER! He and Mona try to trace Mary Drake’s phone call, but fail. Mona sees her buying charcoal, bleach, and some other murder supplies and assumes she’s ready to kill and/or bury Hanna.
Speaking of, Hanna is still locked in the barn, where A.D. watches her through night vision goggles and sprays her down with a hose. The Liars do not have a good relationship with water: they’ve been drowned, frozen, steamed, and plunged into a lake full of masks. I think they need to take a page out of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and always pack a towel.
Mary Drake shows up at Spencer’s door, looking to speak to her parents. Since they’re Out Of Town, Spencer invites her in for some tea. Mary says that she was friendly with the Hastings before Jessica poisoned their friends and family against her, forcing her to move away. She also says that she was born first but Jessica was born jealous, which BURN. She only came back to Rosewood because she heard her sister died.
Back at Wellby, Emily asks Ali to tell her truth about Charlotte, but Ali is still sedated. Suddenly, she wakes and begs for God’s forgiveness, and Emily is all, “oh fuck, she might be a murderer.” What a boner kill.
Over at Ezra’s apartment, Aria is worried about Hanna but Ezra suggests she get some sleep. Aria knows she has to figure out everything with Liam and process her bang sesh with Ezra, but they have to deal with the Hanna of it all first. She heads to the Brew, where she runs into Emily, who lies about Ali’s confession. Poor Em, always protecting her girl.
Aria leaves, and Sabrina the weed girl/manager chats up Emily. She can see that Emily is upset, so she offers her some lemon bars and a shoulder to cry on. Hmm, maybe they are gonna try to make this a flirt thing. We’ll see.
Caleb and Mona stake out the Lost Woods resort and start getting snippy with each other. They track Mary’s phone call to Snookers bar, and Aria goes there to hunt for a British man on the other end of the line. She shows up to the bar and scopes the joint out, but there’s no Brit to be found. There are two extras with awful Southern accents, though. Who let those guys in? Later, Aria shows up on Ezra’s doorstep because she just wants to be with him. Yawn.
