Sherri Saum on tonight’s emotional Season 4 premiere of “The Fosters”

While tonight’s season premiere of The Fosters is more than a little intense with a gun threat at the high school, everyone can breathe a sign of relief that at least we’re going to see Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherri Saum) in a good place in the fourth season.

We recently talked to Teri for the latest Hollywood Qcast podcast (where she also talked about Hulu’s queer-centric Rosaline cartoon) so it was Saum’s turn to spill what we’ll see in the new season.

On the high school set recently, Saum explained the status of their relationship this season and whether we’ll be seeing Monty (Annika Marks) again in the new season. She also talked about how she still hears from fans regularly about the positive impact her character and the show has for people.

The Fosters airs Mondays at 8pm on Freeform.
