“Orphan Black” recap (4.06): Worth the Salt

Flash back to Evie upset with Beth for not killing Susan in the bathroom. Beth threatens Evie, but Evie threatens Beth’s family. Evie says that the only way Beth can save everyone she loves is to kill herself. Beth isn’t afraid to die, so she pistol whips Evie, giving her that scar on her cheek, and being the source of the blood on Beth’s hands when she returns to her apartment.

Present-day Cosima asks Evie why she’s doing this. Evie says that clones are obsolete, that the science they’re doing now can fix people, they can create a person more perfect than the Leda clones. But Cosima says perfection doesn’t exist.

Correction: You can’t get more perfect than the face of Leda.

Evie thinks she’ll be called a pioneer someday, and gives Cosima a chance to say goodbye to Kendall.

Cosima begs Kendall to help her think of a solution, but all Kendall says is that she shouldn’t cry. “These shites aren’t worth the salt.” Kendall sends her love to Siobhan and has Cosima tell her sestras that Kendall is proud to have been a part of them all.

And we’re proud to have known you.

As they splash gasoline on her on the van, Kendall begs Cosima to turn around, so she doesn’t see this, and Cosima listens. She falls to her knees and cries as the Detective shoots Kendall and blows up the van.

Evie struts up to Cosima and tells her that Delphine was shot dead at DYAS, and Cosima breaks down into sobs that shook my very soul. Sobs that she has been holding in for months. Evie leaves her with even more messages: Tell Susan that Kendall’s dead, tell them it’s over, because if they keep poking around, Beth will have died for nothing.

STOP MANIPULATING EVERYONE INCLUDING ME AND MY EMOTIONS

Evie leaves Cosima there in the field, broken. Cosima, still sobbing, calls Sarah to tell her, and one look from her daughter tells Mrs. S everything.

Cue everyone spiraling.
