“The 100” recap (3.15): The Last Stand

Roan leads Clarke through Polis while Bellamy, Octavia, Miller and Bryan run through the tunnels and in a position to cover them. While they check their ammo and wait for their cue, the boyfriends dream out loud of a world without fighting, a house by the lake where they can grow old together. Octavia realizes that she’ll never have this, not with Lincoln, and her little warrior spirit cracks a little.

I suddenly understand the urge to keep her safe under the floorboards where no one can break her heart.

Bellamy let’s-murder-300-people-in-their-sleep Blake tells his team to make sure they don’t use lethal force on these brainwashed people, and they take their posts.

Roan shouts that he has the flame and demands to see the Commander, but instead of Ontari, Jaha appears. Roan won’t give the flame to him; he demands to see Ontari, but Jaha simply says that their friends in the tunnels can’t help them. Desperate, Roan draws a knife and presses it to Clarke’s neck, and true to Jaha’s word, the tunnel team is taken out by trikru before they can decide how best to help Clarke.

Jaha tells them to drop the act because he knows they’re working together, and on one thing Jaha and Roan can agree: they need Clarke alive. On one thing they disagree, however: Only Jaha needs Roan alive. So Kane shoots Roan, confusing the hell out of Clarke.

HOW DID EVERYTHING GO SO WRONG?!

Raven is tinkering with her potential portal maker in Arkadia while Monty bleeds out and bites at the bit to go save Harper. Raven points out that Harper is a soldier and can save her damn self. Jasper knocks and Monty talks to him to keep him occupied, both so he’s away from Harper and not interrupting Raven’s project. Jasper explains that when he met the storyteller on the oil rig, he found himself not whining about Maya for once, and then she was murdered, because wherever skaikru goes, death follows. It was there that Jasper took the chip, then that he let Alie take away his pain.

Jasper says he understands now that the ground isn’t survivable after all.

In Polis, Jaha takes Clarke to the throne room, where she is greeted not only by memories of her Heda but her mother, chipped and dead behind the eyes.

Mama, can you hear me?

When Clarke won’t tell her the passphrase, Abby has guards tie Clarke up while she selects a tool to torture her daughter with—a scalpel. Because irony. The tool she daughter her daughter how to use in order to heal she will now use to cause pain.
