“The 100” recap (3.05): Field of Blood

Abby comes out to see her old Chancellor, and one of the first things he tells her is that “death is not the end” so Abby is pretty sure the desert drove him mad.

“I…I’m not sure I want our storylines to merge.”

Kane comes to greet Jaha, and Abby doesn’t even try to hide her incredulity as she has Jaha explain to Kane about the City of Light. Pike comes to greet Jaha, too, and asks to speak to him alone. Alie acts as the voice in Jaha’s ear—because no one else can see her—and tries to coach him into easing into the whole City of Light thing. But Jaha is an all or nothing guy and comes right out with it, making Pike pretty sure that this nutjob isn’t the threat to his power he thought he might be.

Outside, Octavia makes her way through the sea of bodies, the dead trikru that were her people. She goes to the Commander’s tent and explains to Lexa that all of this is Pike’s fault, that it wasn’t Kane going against the Coalition he just agreed to be branded by.

Clarke can’t believe what the skaikru has come to, but Octavia snaps at her that she wasn’t there. She wasn’t there. There’s an ache behind her words. Clarke asks what Bellamy’s doing about it and Octavia says Bellamy is in on it, is following Pike. Clarke thinks that Bellamy letting Indra live is a sign that he’s not completely brainwashed yet, that they can use him to end this.

Lexa is worried about Clarke going to Bellamy. “You’ve been living with their enemy,” Lexa says. Living with. So many ways she could have put that: “working with,” “fighting with,” “siding with,” “an ambassador to.” But she said, “Living with.” Because it’s more than a business transaction to Lexa. But no matter what you call it, the angry skaikru won’t like it, and probably aren’t going to be thrilled to see Wanheda in their camp, hair still stained with panther blood. But not to worry; Octavia knows a way in.

I’m 100% here for a Clextavia Trimonarchy regime.

At camp, Pike is creating an internment camp for sick grounders. INTERNMENT CAMP. Dude, I know you taught Earth Skills, but did you ever study Earth History? You must have, or you would have just called this “grounder rounder upper” or something. Don’t you think things like this are exactly what lead the planet to TOTAL DESTRUCTION in the first place?

Ugh. Anyway, Lincoln is understandably outraged, having reached his breaking point, and ends up getting thrown in the cell with the rest of the trikru still in Arkadia.

Abby. is. pissed.

Outside, Jaha begins his holy rolling about the City of Light, just standing there, talking to anyone who will listen. Raven, bitter about being absent for two episodes and ready to take it out on anyone, starts telling Jaha he’s an idiot and that you can’t just wish pain away.

Alie tells Jaha that Raven is the key; win her over, others will follow. So Jaha offers Raven the chip, calling it the key to the City of Light. But Raven thinks that sounds like a crock of you know what.

My dog speaks more eloquently. And I don’t even know what a dog is.
