Speaking of Mama Griffin, she’s a little stressed that it’s sunset and Lexa still hasn’t brought her Clarke. But almost as soon as the worry is expressed, Clarke appears. Abby hugs her, and Clarke shrugs her off like, “Moooom, I’m Wanheda now, you can’t hug me in front of people like this.” Classic teenage commanders of death, amiright? Clarke tells her mother and Marcus that the plan for the summit is changing; the skaikru is to become the 13th clan of the Coalition.
Abby is very confused, and isn’t sure she wants to follow Lexa, but Clarke reminds her that Unity Day was the only way the Ark survived, and this is the only way they will. They ask Clarke what’s going to stop Ice Nation, and she answers with her own name. Wanheda.
And if you thought you knew Wanheda, you were quite mistaken. Because in she walks, full warrior princess, warpaint and all.
Lexa is also in her fancy attire and formal warpaint, and the ceremony begins. Clarke walks slowly down the aisle toward Lexa, and when she gets there, she bows before her Commander.
Lexa’s face, though. She’s a little surprise Clarke went through with it, and she’s so grateful. It’s almost a heartbeat of relief; this plan might just work.
Roan follows suit, and then everyone else in the room takes a knee. All hail Heda, long may she reign.
While all this is going on, Team Blake is sneaking into the Polis tower through the elevator shaft, climbing all the way up to the top floor, following Echo’s orders.
In the throne room, Lexa welcomes everyone, especially Clarke Kom Skaikru, Wanheda, Mountain Slayer, Mother of Dragons. She explains that this isn’t a peace treaty negotiation, but an initiation. The clans are a little hesitant, but follow Lexa’s calm as she has Marcus branded with the symbol of the Coalition.
The Blakes interrupt the ceremony, weapons waving, shouting that it’s a trap, that Ice Nation is going to get them. Someone from Ice Nation points out that it’s the skaikru kids with the guns, breaking laws, not them.
Lexa asks why they think this, and they turn to point to Echo, but she’s long gone.
