New preview clips from “Parks and Recreation”

We recently showed you some stills from Amy Poehler‘s new mockumentary-style television show, back when NBC was calling it Public Service.

Now the show is called Parks and Recreation, but the concept is still the same:

The documentary cameras follow Leslie Knope (Poehler) a mid-level bureaucrat in the Parks and Recreation Department of Pawnee, Indiana. In an attempt to beautify her town – and advance her career – Leslie takes on what should be a fairly simple project: help local nurse Ann Perkins (Rashida Jones, NBC’s The Office) turn an abandoned construction pit into a community park. Opposing them are defensive bureaucrats, selfish neighbors, real estate developers, and single-issue fanatics – whose weapons are lawsuits, the jumble of city codes, and the very democratic process that Leslie loves so much.

True to mockumentary form, NBC has created a fake official website for the town of Pawnee, Indiana, where you can learn about Ms. Knope, “pests”, and the Featured Park of the Week.

The current Featured Park is Ramsett Park, and on the site I learned that, “Since 2007, the park has been frequented by a large number of animals, many domesticated. After an eight-month hiatus last year to set up cages and traps, Ramsett Park has re-opened to increased popularity. Parkgoers can now enjoy stopping in for a quick game of handball or just taking a cautious stroll.”

Yep, as with The Office, this is going to be my kind of show.

NBC has also made a couple of new preview clips available for the Parks and Recreation. You can watch them below:

I think that, “I hate the public. The public is stupid” might just be my Featured Quote of the Day.

Parks and Recreation premieres on April 9. Do the clips make you want to tune in?
