Best Moments from the “Orphan Black” panel at Comic-Con

Arguably, the Orphan Black panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con was one of the hottest tickets in town. After an incredible third season, the show’s stars and creators were greeted by the thunderous applause of dedicated Clone Clubbers, Clonesbians and fans of the sci-fi show. Moderating the panel was Orphan Black superfan, the amazing comedian and actress, Retta.

BBC America has put together a video of the Top 5 Moments of the Orphan Black panel, which include Jordan Gavaris getting distracted by a puppy, Dylan Bruce discussing Paul’s exit and of course, Kristian Bruun talking about Donnie and Alison’s twerk session. However, it’s when Retta asks creators John Fawcett and Graeme Manson about inclusion of LGBT characters, that makes the top of our list. Manson had this to say about OB’s queer characters:

“We really decided that we wanted to explore sexuality, it works with all the themes of cloning etc. But we very purposely did not want to put it at the forefront…put anybody’s sexuality at the forefront. It’s no more important than anything else about any of the other characters on our show.”

This was met with a round of cheers from the audience. Manson also gave a shout out the fans of Orphan Black and how the show has inspired such community. The show even threw a Clone Club meet up called the “Alison Hendrix Victory Brunch” because, of course.

Here is the video so you can check out all these great moments, and if you were in attendance at either event, we’d love to hear what your favorite moments were. #SestrasForever!
