Morning Brew – Tig Notaro interviews Andrea Gibson

Good morning! I hope you had a great weekend.

If you’re ever headed to NYC, you can now take a gay city tour. I can’t speak to its lesbian content, but I have made my own map of lez Greenwich Village once. (It’s not hard!)

Glory Johnson posted a message for fans on her Instagram this weekend.

WE’RE OK! @brittneygriner and I are home, injury-free, and still wedding planning! We know we must set better examples, even during the most trying times, and we are EXTREMELY sorry for all the negative attention we brought to ourselves, our family, and the league. We are actively seeking help in order to do BETTER. Thanks for all the Love, Support, and Prayers that were sent our way. #LoveLife #StillBlessed #WorkInProgress #NobodysPerfect

Dianna Agron spoke with the Wall Street Journal about her role in Bare. When asked about if the film is about sexuality:

“I don’t think so. It’s more about the human experience and finding love for somebody — it’s not gender specific, or Sarah finding herself as a lesbian. I was in a nail salon the other day and there were these girls holding hands, arm around the other girls, joking, laughing. Just girlfriends. But there’s some cultures and places where that’s not appropriate. It just depends on what you grow up with.”

Interview magazine had Tig Notaro interview out poet/performer Andrea Gibson.

An excerpt:

NOTARO: Do you identify as gay? How do you identify yourself as a person?

GIBSON: Queer! I identify as queer and I identify as gender queer.

NOTARO: What is that?

GIBSON: That just means that I don’t necessarily identify within a gender binary. I’ve never in my life really felt like a woman and I’ve certainly never felt like a man. I look at gender on a spectrum and I feel somewhere on that spectrum that’s not landing on either side of that.
