Morning Brew – Evan Rachel Wood will guest star on “Doll & Em”

Good morning!

Evan Rachel Wood will guest star on HBO’s Doll & Em, and she seems to have a substantial roll. The show follows actress Emily Mortimer and her best friend turned personal assistant Dolly Wells as they maneuver around the challenges that come with the changes in their relationship. In Season 2, the women write a play about their relationship, and Evan will play herself playing Doll, while Olivia Wilde has been cast to play Em. INTO IT.

The Daily Show’s Jessica Williams says people assume she and her BFF are lesbians all the time, which makes her just like her idol.

“Thankfully I already have a mogul I can pattern myself after: Oprah. We’re a lot alike. I’m black, I love to relate things people talk about to myself, and people think my best friend and I are lesbians! My strength is that I’m more relatable. Maybe I’m missing a shirt button, maybe I have a food stain on my pants. People would grow to find that endearing. (Take that, Mom! I don’t need to “clean myself up” to keep a job!)”
