From the folks that brought you the Duggars and Amish kids gone wild, comes a new show that we can really get behind. TLC’s new weekly series, All About Sex features queer comedian/actress/activist Margaret Cho, Chelsea Lately scribe and frequent guest, Heather McDonald, actress Marissa Janet Winokur of Broadway’s Hairspray fame, and sex and relationship specialist, Dr. Tiffanie Davis Henry.
According to TLC, “Each week will bring a rotating selection of segments, including observations on the week’s craziest sex-related news, open conversations about love and marriage, taking viewer calls and social media inquiries regarding their relationship challenges, and helping demystify the kinds of questions that you’re too embarrassed to even Google yourself. Blending together their unique perspectives, diverse backgrounds, and a hell of a lot of humor, spending a half-hour with the women of All About Sex will be even better than some post-coitus cuddling.”
Sounds like a party to me. All the women involved have very unique perspectives, and it can never be a bad thing to kick down the doors of sexual stigmas and taboos. With Cho on board, hopefully lesbian/bi/queer issues will be addressed head on and with her signature style. I kind of love the idea of four funny, smart women discussing sex in a meaningful way. The show, which debuts on Saturday, January 10th at 11pm EST, is also encouraging viewers to tweet in their questions with the hashtag, #AllAboutSexTLC.
