Morning Brew – Sarah Silverman will play a lesbian on “Masters of Sex”

Good morning!

Sarah Silverman has been cast as Betty’s girlfriend Helen on Masters of Sex. Betty (Annaleigh Ashford) was a lady of the night who left the business and her girlfriend to get married to a rich man. But in Season 2, it looks like Helen is going to work hard to get her back. Also she’s a “self-professed psychic and palm reader.”

For the record, FUCK YEAH!

Sarah’s BFF Tig Notaro has a tiny but hilarious role in the new film Walk of Shame. She’s toward the end of the trailer.

Andrew Garfield thinks Spiderman could totally be a lesbian. I’m into it!

“I think one of the amazing things about Spider-Man is that you don’t see skin color when he’s in the suit. You don’t see any religious beliefs. You don’t see any denominations. Everyone can project themselves into that suit. It’s incredibly powerful in that way. “So of course I think it’s important that the the casting, in terms of who could be Spider-Man, could be absolutely anyone. A hero is a hero, whether you’re a man, woman, gay, lesbian, straight, black, white or red all over — it doesn’t matter.”
Mary Lambert talked with IHeartRadio about all kinds of fun things, like the fact she has no sense of smell.

Cherry Jones is up for another Tony! This time around it’s for her work on The Glass Menagerie, and she could win Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play.

Are you getting psyched for Season 5 of Rookie Blue? This teaser will probably get you there. (Thanks Donna!)

Around the Block premiered at the Newport Beach Film Festival this week and diector Sarah Spillane posed with her girlfriend Wendi Hammock as well as one of the film’s stars Ruby Rose and her fiance Phoebie Dahl. The movie, which also stars Christina Ricci in a queer role, will be released for all to see in August.
