Morning Brew – Desiree Akhavan gets a role on “Girls”

Good morning! It’s Monday, but we’re all going to power through it, OK?

Page Six reports that a “spy” saw Katy Perry and Rihanna doing some late hour bumping and grinding out in the club this weekend and that it was “”one step away from a lesbian love scene!” I need to know who this spy is so I can decide what kind of judgment they have on lesbian love scenes and assess the situation.

Rumors are also surrounding Kristen Stewart and the women she’s hanging out with. Girlfriends? Rebounds? No one knows, they all want to.

In other rumors/gossip, Cara Delevingne supposedly broke up with Michelle Rodriguez. It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt. (Also, are Cara and Kristen working with the same stylist?)

Desiree Akhavan has joined Season 4 of Girls. The out actress/writer will play a student at the writing program Hannah attends. If you can trust Lena Dunham’s Instagram, it appears her character’s name is Chandra.

Fierce.

Susan Sarandon is back on Mike & Molly tonight as Molly’s big lesbian writer friend. I totally agree with what she’s saying.

Out novelist A.M. Homes had a story of hers turned into a comic for The Guardian.

The New York Times has a piece about Ellen DeGeneres’s obsession with real estate.

Joan Jett and Taylor Momsen played “I Hate Myself For Loving You” together, and I like that song so much I’m alright with it.

Uzo Aduba talked with EW about her audition for Orange is the New Black and which castmates she knew before the show.

Heather Peace hates being called a “lesbian musician” or “lesbian actress.” She’s also released the lyric video for her new “lesbian” song.

The New Republic has an article called “Why Are Americans More Accepting of Gays and Lesbians Than Bisexuals and Cross-Dressers?” I think some would say “They’re not!”
