Morning Brew – Ellen Page and Evan Rachel Wood are tomboys together

Good morning!

My mom is going to see Jillian Michaels on her Maximize Your Life tour tonight, so this #TBT is in honor of her. (p.s. I can see your boobs, Jackie Warner.)

2nd Annual Lingerie Art Auction and Fashion Show Hosted by Fredericks of Hollywood - Red Carpet

Ellen Page and Evan Rachel Wood are the cutest co-stars.

Now Toronto has an interview with out author Emma Donoghue about her new book, Frog Music.

MK Nobilette told TV Guide she appreciated American Idol producers for letting her be out.

“They didn’t have to put it in there. That was their choice, which I appreciated. They ask what makes you different from the other contestants. Well, that’s like the No. 1 thing that makes me different from the other contestants. Also, it’s not just a singing competition. It’s a reality TV show. And on reality television, the people viewing it want to have a sense of connection to the person who they are rooting for. So for my fans specifically, a lot of them were younger queer people. And just to say that, I think, makes a statement that I’m proud about it, which I am. I wouldn’t want anyone to get the impression that I was trying to hide something that’s important. And that also helps people get to know who I am, which is important.”

Angel Haze tells Hunger TV that Sia is a major inspiration to her.

She is on my single and she talks about issues that show how self confident she is, and her bravery inspires me to do the same. It’s so important for society to recognise the power of women, I’m all for this new wave of feminism. Little girls need to know growing up that they can do what they want, they can be who they want. If they have more female role models like Beyonce and Adele they will grow up to be something and not just have to be some man’s arm candy.

Heather Matarazzo did a Reddit Q&A the other day and said her experience working on The L Word was “wonderful.”

She “pled the fifth” on a question about the toning down of lesbian and gay scenes in another film she was in, 54. Heather is currently starring in a short film seeking the funds to get made.

Tasya van Ree shot Soko for All Hallow magazine‘s spring issue.

Meg Tilly says Bomb Girls fans are the reason the movie came to be. The only problem with how we watch the show is the same thing that used to happen with The L Word! Meg says:

“A lot of people would be like, ‘We have “Bomb Girl” parties,’ which is wonderful, but that’s one TV…. But then of course that’s one of the things I love about the show so I wouldn’t want people to have a reason not to get together with their family for their night to watch it.”

We’re just into potlucks and gatherings, what can I say?

Zimbio has the ABCS of Doccubus. Their X is quite creative.

LA Weekly profiled the half-gay band Team Mate. (Thanks Ali!)

Madonna is going to bring out writer Rebecca Walker‘s Ade: A Love Story to the big screen. There is some lesbian content in the book so you might just want to read it before seeing what Madge does with the movie.
