Morning Brew – Kylie Minogue gets Sapphic for “Sexercise”

Good morning!

Kylie Minogue is great at celebrating Hump Day! Her new video for “Sexercise” is pretty much like it sounds, but with some women rubbing on her in the gym, too. Out songwriter Sia produced the song.

Said Kylie of the track:

Sexercize! Yes! Thank you Sia! I actually blushed when I heard the title and thought, “Oh, that’s wrong.” But that’s the genius of Sia. She can made it cool and make it hot. And I can probably put the little wink into it, so you know it’s going to be more fruity than sleazy.”

For a softer side of Sia, check out this stripped down version of her song with Angel Haze, “Battle Cry.”

Debbie Harry loves Beth Ditto, and for good reason:

“She is a terrific girl. I love the fact that she’s crazy — an independent spirit. And, you know, I like tough girls. She’s a fabric of her own imagination, not somebody else’s, which is really important.”

A vigil is going to be held tonight in Texas for Britney Cosby and Crystal Jackson. It will be statewide with a homebase of The Montrose Center in Houston.

Kathryn Brenny won a lawsuit this week against the University of Minnesota after she was fired from her post as associate women’s golf coach when her boss found out she was a lesbian. That’s discrimination, son!

Sharon Gless gave a heartfelt speech as she accepted Equality Florida’s Voice For Equality Award. Debbie Novotny forever.

Bisexual (but married) Mel B told Khloe Kardashian, “If I was a lesbian, you would be my girlfriend.” To which my fave Kardashian replied, “Why thank you, Mel. Let’s lez it out a little bit!” I support this, even if Mel thinks you can’t be bisexual and have a girlfriend.22nd Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation's Oscar Viewing Party - Arrivals
