Morning Brew – Wanda Sykes makes Ellen LOL at a lesbian joke

Good morning!

This just in: Lesbian chic is still fashionable! We’re just a lifestyle and a look to some people.

OK I kind of find the fact that celesbians are now worthy of ridiculous gossipy headlines like this: “Ellen DeGeneres Warns Jodie Foster Against Tying Knot with Alexandra Hedison?”

Sharon Osbourne and Joan Jett stopped to talk to the lesbian behind the camera at a recent benefit for LA’s Gay and Lesbian Center featuring a performance by Joan Jett.

Wanda Sykes talked about her 50th birthday on The Ellen Show yesterday, and how she learned how to snowboard to impress her wife. Jokes about poles between her legs make Ellen laugh.

The Lady Assassin, new to DVD, is a “Vietnamese period adventure” with “lesbian overtones.” Do with that information what you will!

Meanwhile I’ll be seeing Croc-A-Dyke Dundee.

The next season of American Horror Story will have a “carnival” theme. I’m in, and hoping Sarah Paulson sticks around.

The new Portlandia activity book is very queer. Unicorns, gender binary discussions, etc.

Terez‘s proposal to partner Monifah on last season of R&B Divas is up for Heartfelt Moment at this year’s Reality Wanted Awards. You can vote for the sweet situation right here. They two made it official at the end of January.

A new documentary about out classical guitarist Sharon Isbin is coming! Here’s a four minute excerpt from Sharon Isbin: Troubadour. Some of the other musicians and friends included in the doc: Martina Navratilova, Janis Ian, Lesley Gore and Michelle Obama.

Don’t kill the messenger! Here’s a clip from this week’s Rizzoli & Isles where Maura has a moment with Franky, but gets interrupted by Jane. (Thanks Colette! Don’t kill Colette either.)
