Fortune Feimster will team up with Tina Fey for “Cabot College”

Get ready to high five a million angels: Openly gay comic/AfterEllen favorite/Chelsea Lately writer and panelist Fortune Feimster has landed a role on Tina Fey‘s new Fox comedy, Cabot College, according to The Hollywood Reporter. But that’s not all. Openly gay lady Fortune Feimster will play an openly gay lady on the show.

Feimster will portray Becca, a student who is a popular sophomore and openly gay, who is not tortured by her sexual orientation in the least. The character is a three-sport varsity athlete who is an outgoing, extremely loud and raucous partier.
I’ll give you a minute to process the fullness of that awesomeness.

You good? No? You need another minute? OK, go ahead.

Cabot College – which is just a working title, by the way – is a multi-camera sitcom that explores the hyper-feminist world of an all-girls university that has finally decided to allow men to enroll. The project is a three-way tag-team between Fey and two of her 30 Rock partners in crime: co-showrunner Robert Carlock and writer Matt Hubbard, who penned the pilot script. Tina Fey won’t star in the show, but we know her hand will be guiding the proceedings as she executive produces. Hey, stop crying. She’s got two other comedies in the works at NBC right now, and in fact, this one would have landed at the Peacock too if they hadn’t lost out in a bidding war to Fox. She’s a busy lady, OK? Busy having it all.

Production on Cabot College will begin in March and, Poehler willing, land on our TVs sometime this summer.

How excited are you about Fortune Feimster’s new role?
