Orphan Black really knows how to play with our hearts. They’ve released a new teaser, and once again, they take the “tease” part very seriously.
A few things about this teaser, because yes I’ve watched this same 30 second clip half a dozen times. First of all, “I’m one of a kind” is the most brilliant thing for Sarah Manning to say. She’s unique, yet she’s one of many clones. I’m a word-nerd and the double meaning in that made me very happy.
Secondly, please take a second to wrap your head around the fact that 100% of the many voices in that teaser are Tatiana Maslany. All of them! Even though they’re all different tone, timber, and accent. I don’t think I’ll ever get over it. And you know what, I hope I never do. I hope Tatiana Maslany never ceases to amaze me, because it gives me such a thrill every time.
Now, since that was such a teaser, I thought I’d share something less tease-y and more fun. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been thoroughly enjoying BBC America’s “Ask OB” series where they ask cast members fan questions they get from Tumblr. The most recent one of Evelyne Brochu, who plays Delphine, is very adorable.
Evelyne talking about being a puppy while being as cute as a puppy? It’s puppy-ception. And it’s magical. I don’t know French, but from what I can gather from comments on YouTube, I’m pretty sure she thanked us for being fans of the show. If anyone can give a full translation in the comments, go for it!
Orphan Black is really taking advantage of their fanbase on Twitter and Tumblr. And I’m not just talking about their stellar social media team. From actors to writers, they’re really embracing the #CloneClub and #clonesbians. They even have fanart and fanfiction articles posted around the writers’ room for inspiration-and hopefully it’s a regular reminder that we really love this show and want them to keep making it the best it can be.
