Cameron Diaz doesn’t wanna get hitched — and it’s not because she supports gay marriage!

On Tuesday’s Ellen, Cameron Diaz revealed to Ellen DeGeneres that she isn’t planning on getting married to boyfriend of nearly four years Justin Timberlake anytime soon. Here’s how it went down:

Ellen: When [Justin] was on the show I asked him if y’all were going to get married. Cameron: I saw that. Ellen: And are you? Cameron: You know the answer to that, Ellen. I’m a commitment-phobe. Ellen: I know. Cameron: Don’t want to do it. Ellen: But it’s been almost four years now. Cameron: Well, we’re kind of like married, isn’t it? Ellen: Yeah, it is, kind of, without the tax benefits.
Diaz’s announcement parts ways from the new trend in celebrity nonmarriages, recently cemented by Brad Pitt, who told Esquire last October that he and Angelina Jolie (aka The Woman Every Woman Would Switch Teams For) wouldn’t get married until “everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able.” Pitt followed Charlize Theron, who told Extra last year that she and boyfriend Stuart Townsend “would get married the day that gays and lesbians can get married — when that right is given to them.”

I have to say, Cameron’s admission that she’s merely commitment-phobic is kind of, well, refreshing. It’s still rare for a single woman to declare that she simply doesn’t want to get married. Look at all the grief that Oprah Winfrey still gets for not having tied the knot with Stedman.

But support for my unwed sisters is not the only reason I wanted to tell you about Cameron’s commitment phobia — it also allows me to upload a cute picture of Ellen in a tie. I have to say, she’s wearing a lot of ties this season, and I’m not complaining. I love a girl in a tie.
