Sara Ramirez, “Carmilla” stars and other celebs we love take a stand against bullying for Spirit Day

Today is Spirit Day, the day where LGBTQIA folks and allies “go purple” to take a stand against bullying. Started in 2010, the movement only gains strength each year as many more come out to say that bulling queer and trans kids (and adults) is not acceptable. GLAAD has been a driving force behind spreading the Spirit Day message, although it was a young woman named Brittany McMillan who came up with the excellent idea.

Now every October 15th, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram are a sea of purple, showing more and more that our allies are outnumbering the bullies. Here are just some of the celebs, shows and organizations who are taking part in Spirit Day.
