VICE has a new five-part web series called Young and Gay in Putin’s Russia that tells the true stories of LGBTQ Russians, who are being persecuted by their own government and face violence on a daily basis. So far parts one and two have been released, and they are very telling of how difficult it is to come out and live as a queer person in the upcoming host of the winter olympics.
