Seriously Sexy: Brittany Snow

Hi, my name is Valerie and I’m a Pitch Perfect addict.

Phew. I’m glad I got that off my chest.

Anyway, I thought I would put my addiction to good use and spotlight the Seriously Sexy Brittany Snow. Miss Snow has come a long way from the sweet, naive-but-passionate dreamer she was in American Dreams. In fact, in Pitch Perfect, she shed her innocent blonde ‘do for an awesome auburn. But not before she shed her clothes for Maxim magazine. She danced around plenty in American Dreams, and her bits in Hairspray made me wish she had a bigger role, but in Pitch Perfect, her talent becomes VERY obvious. And once you get past the nakedness and the flirting in the shower scene between Beca and Chloe, you realize that they’re actually singing live and DAMN can they sing.

Speaking of flirting, nothing you can say or do will ever convince me that Chloe doesn’t have a major crush on Beca for the entirety of the movie. Nobody stares at a person so intensely so often that they only have friendly feelings for!

I’m not the only one who feels that way, and Brittany knows it. Her and Anna play up this non-canon ship, joking about having crushes on each other when they have joint interviews. rittany and Anna clearly know and don’t seem to mind that people ship them together – they even play along sometimes, like they did in this instragram exchange the AfterEllen tumblr caught earlier this week: This isn’t the first time Brittany Snow has pinged our gaydar, either. Two years ago, AE posted about Brittany after she said she loved getting to lock lips with lovely ladies.

From her steamy kiss with Sophia Bush in John Tucker Must Die to her steamier music video make-out, Brittany is no stranger to the girl-on-girl kiss. And while she hasn’t officially played gay yet, I have a very strong feeling that if she was asked to do it, she would do us proud.

That AfterEllen article goes on to mention the organization she co-founded, Love is Louder. It was just a year old back then, but two years later, it’s still going strong. What started as a support system for people who were the victims of bullying has grown into a network of people spreading hope, strength, and of course, love to anyone and everyone. They even made a video for Sandy Hook in the wake of their tragedy, reminding us all that love is louder than violence.

As someone who battled with a difficult time myself in high school, I know how important it is to just know that love is louder than self-doubt, love is louder than pain, love is louder than those voices in your head telling you that you’re not good enough. I was lucky enough to have a few people in my life telling me those kinds of things in person, but this organization is a simple and beautiful way to reach those people who might help hearing it. In fact, the Love is Louder movement is the number one reason I selected Brittany Snow for this. Because she is using her powers for good. She knew, because of her career and her success, that her voice was a little…well, louder than others; a little more easily heard. So she made sure her message was meaningful. She didn’t have to do that — most celebrities don’t. In fact, as long as they’re not being bad role models, they’re considered to be doing just fine for themselves. Their only responsibility is in their art, to make sure they’re doing the best they can on a role-by-role basis. Brittany Snow went above and beyond by creating this organization, inspiring thousands of people with a positive attitude and one of the most powerful gifts you can give someone — hope.

I know I only skimmed the surface of her greatness, but there she is, folks. Gorgeous, funny, talented, kind, smart. She’s the complete package. She is Seriously Sexy.

And so I leave you with a melding of my two favorite things in Brittany Snow’s career thus far (though I’m sure she has only just begun): a Love is Louder PSA from the cast of Pitch Perfect:
