In January, NBC is launching the search for the next Sandy and Danny in Grease: You’re the One That I Want, an American Idol-type reality show in which America will choose the new leads for a new Broadway production of Grease, opening in June 2007.
Is it just me, or does this sound like a really bad idea for a TV show? But then, I’m partial to the movie, not the play. I found this quiz to help you determine Which Grease character are you?, which asks you things like what you would most likely fail at (possible answers: “shampoo class”, “I don’t fail anything”, “gym class”, “my pregnancy test”, or “being good”).
I’m apparently a Sandy, no matter how much I want to be a Rizzo…
Speaking of Grease, did you know there’s a fan site dedicated to Grease 2? I thought my sister and I were the only people who like that movie. Sure, the plot is predictable, the characters are over the top, and Maxwell Caulfield looks really gay, but how can you not love Michelle Pfeiffer as a bad girl? All she wants is a cool rider, y’all!
