Boys still don’t cry
Hilary Swank will be presented with an Emery Award tomorrow for her role in Boys Don’t Cry (1999). The Emery Awards recognize “support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youths,” and Margaret Cho is hosting this year.
I guess this was the best they could do, but jeez, what’s the point of giving an award if you have to reach that far back for something to recognize? I’m sure Swank doesn’t mind; after all, if she says it really quickly, people will think she’s won an Emmy.
