“Tron Legacy” trailer sets expectations racing

I know the geeky parts of me should be all atwitter about the new film Tron Legacy. I know I should be focusing on the eye-popping visuals and updated light cycles and return of neon. But, to be perfectly honest, the thing that gets me most excited about this movie is the possibility of seeing Olivia Wilde in a skin-tight, day-glo bodysuit. What? I can’t be deep all the time. An extended teaser trailer for the long-in-the-coming sequel to the 1982 sci-fi adventure Tron was released at Comic-Con. It is, admittedly, pretty darn cool. Lights. Racing. Crashes. Jeff Bridges. This is all good. But, seriously, where is Olivia? She is the best special effect you’ve got, people. Use her to your advantage. Spare no mountain ox.

The sequel brings back Bridges as Kevin Flynn, the programmer who found himself inside a gladiatorial computer game, but has since disappeared. Now 27 years later, his son Sam (played by Garrett Hedlund) and Olivia’s as-yet unnamed character search for him after find themselves in a new, even more dangerous version of the game – I think. Plot details have been a little light. So, what do you think? Does Tron Legacy make you want to get back into the game? Are you ready for that much neon? And, I’m not kidding, where is Olivia? Discuss.
