Talking with the stars of Tribeca’s new lesbian-themed film “AWOL”

Deb Shoval‘s new film AWOL stars Breeda Wool (UnReal) and Lola Kirke (Mozart in the Jungle) as women who fall for one another despite some difficult circumstances they each face in their small town existence. Breeda stars as Rayna, an unhappily married mother of two who has a thing for tomboys; Joey (Lola Kirke) is a recent high school grad who signs up for the military because that feels like her only option to get out and see the world. But the two meet and fall for one another, despite the people in their lives telling them to accept their circumstances and make things easier on themselves by not being together.

We were on the red carpet of the AWOL premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival this weekend where we chatted with Breeda and co-stars Dale Soules, Libby George and Charlotte Maltby, who play Joey’s mom, Rayna’s mom and Joey’s sister, respectively.

Visit AWOL‘s Facebook page for more on the film and future screenings.
