Last night Freeheld made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film’s star, Ellen Page, brought her partner Samantha Thomas on the carpet, and also posed with co-star Julianne Moore as well as Stacie Andree, the person that inspired Ellen’s character. At a toast for the movie, they were joined by Ruby Rose, out Into the Forest director Patricia Rozema, producer of the original Freeheld documentary, Cynthia Wade, and co-star Michael Shannon.
