Lesbianing With AE! Can I Become a Lesbian Sugar Baby?

Dear Lindsey,

I have an unusual question I’ve been wrestling with. I am about to graduate from a master’s program and I decided not to continue on for the PhD, which had been my plan all along. I’ve been frantically job searching but there are not many opportunities where I live, so I’m really not sure what I am going to do when I finish. I’ve taken out $80K in student loans for my program and I still have undergrad student loans, too. I’m feeling very depressed and hopeless thinking about how I’m going to make it. I bring this all up because a friend of mine from college turned to sex work to finance her student loan payments and paid off all her student loans in a year with the help of her sugar daddy. She continues to see him because she likes the work. I’m not interested in seeing guys cause I’m a lesbian, lol, but is there a lesbian sugar baby scene?

Hey BBD,

Student loans are the worst. You are DEFINITELY not alone in not knowing how to handle your student loans.

Real talk: Lesbians earn less than their straight peers. Like, so much less that my wife and I would need to form a poly triad with another woman just to equal the average take-home salary of a straight married couple.

So much less that over half of the LGBTQ people surveyed by Student Loan Hero earned under $50k per year.

Women are burdened by student loans and a lower earning power that makes it more difficult to repay loans and get financially free. Sex work is one way to bring in extra money off the books and tackle that debt. And yeah, I know, some people consider sugar baby work sex work, some don’t, but you’re basically exchanging the pleasure of your company for cash and let’s just be upfront about it, your sugar mamas are gonna expect to be serviced.

As a lesbian sugar baby, you can look for a sugar mama, aka a Suze Orman type who is willing to pay for your company. Seeking Arrangements and similar sites are where you would go to look for that. Sudy has an app for lesbian sugar babies called Sudy Les, which you could try too.

So yes, there is a lesbian sugar baby scene but there are fewer sugar mamas out there than sugar daddies for the obvious reasons (but they are out there.)

You might find some couples where the wife is bisexual and the husband is willing to pay for a sugar baby third if he can watch. You might luck out and find a wealthy woman who wants companionship and is more than willing to pay to have a pretty lesbian on her arm. Or a straight woman who’s all “I’m so sick of men, I bet being gay is easier.” Are these scenarios of interest to you? If so then feel free to give the sugar baby thing a try.

Before you sign up, ask your friend for her honest opinion on the sugar bowl lifestyle and assess your comfort with these different scenarios. What can you deal with to pay down those loans and be debt-free? What’s a hard no for you? And how can you assert those boundaries once you start seeking a sugar mama?

You can always make an account, browse the women on these sites, and test the waters-or back out. If you decide to go ahead there are MANY online forums and personal essays that will tell you everything you need to know about sugaring before you dive in.
