Morning Brew: Monday, June 7

Happy Monday!

The MTV Movie Awards aired live last night and while we’ll have a full recap for you later today, I’d be remiss not to mention this:

That’s Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson sharing a brief liplock. Despite ScarJo being the recipient of Sandy’s kiss this time around, it was way less sexy than her impromptu smooch with Meryl Streep earlier this year.

My favorite lesbianish moment was definitely Parks & Recreation‘s Aubrey Plaza saying she wanted to “f–k Megan Fox.” She really committed to it and I like that.

More on all that later! We need to talk about Miley Cyrus again. Last week, she pretended to kiss a female dancer on Britain’s Got Talent. This weekend, she followed it up with doing the same thing at G-A-Y in London (a little less passionate and aimed more toward the neck, though, I should say) and posting a blog on her website about the frenzy regarding her “wild lesbian antics!”

During my performance I supposedly “KISSED A GIRL” and this is the newest thing to cause controversy. I promise you I did not kiss her and it is ridiculous that two entertainers cant even rock out with each other without the media making it some type of story. I really hope my fans are not disappointed in me because the truth is I did nothing wrong.

Got that, guys? She didn’t do anything wrong because she didn’t actually kiss a girl! If she did, that would have been so wrong. I’m sorry, Miley, but this is not the way to win over the gays.

There’s some more rumors stirring up about the upcoming CBS View-like talk show that will feature lesbian mom Sara Gilbert. Gilbert is said to be one of the producers and the show is going to be about issues through the eyes of moms. Doesn’t this show sound so much more enticing with Sara at the helm? I don’t think I’d ever consider watching otherwise.

You guys, we’re not the only ones. Ruby Rose Tweeted her thoughts on Kristen Stewart‘s sexuality. We have so many expert opinions on this, I think we’re getting close to a closed case. Now she just has to come out. Sigh. The speculation continues.

With the premiere of The Real L Word inching closer, we’re finally finding out some more details of what we can look forward to. Producer Jane Lipsitz, Showtime’s president of entertainment Robert Greenblatt and Ilene Chaiken spoke with the Pioneer Press about the real sex we’ll be seeing on screen. Some choice quotes from Chaiken:

I didn’t want to put forward a bunch of trashy lesbians. But I wanted interesting people whose lives have enough drama to be really engaging.

I’m used to being in control, and I’m completely out of control in this case,” she said over coffee at a West Hollywood cafe. “I knew that I wasn’t writing these stories, I couldn’t say what was going to happen, and I couldn’t change course midstream and say, “God, maybe she should cheat on her and go out with her instead.”

So she’s not to blame if it is boring or trashy, OK guys? But she’s responsible for the hot sex scenes, per usual.

The GLAAD Awards were in San Francisco this weekend and a handful of our favorite gay ladies were in attendance.

And now, a very awesome tidbit: Cybill’s other daughter also plays for our team! She brought her girlfriend, Carmen Chambers, to the event, too.

And even though Lady Gaga couldn’t make it, she won Outstanding Music Artist for The Fame Monster.

Congrats, Gaga. To the rest of you, come back later for more gayness. AfterEllen.com loves you.
