Eva II: The Perfect Accessory for Strap-On Sex

Eva II by Dame

The Eva II is the hands-free vibrator from Dame Labs. A very small vibe, silicon-skin vibe with tiny little arm/wing things, it is designed to stay in place on its own. How? Your labia (may) provide just enough tension on its little silicone arms to hold it in place.

What does this mean? What sort of labia are Eva II compatible? If you imagine your pubic bone as sea level, your dunes will need to rise at least half a centimeter or more at their highest. Voluminous or stretchy labia will also be able to hold the arms of Eva II in place. There are three ways to position the Eva to get the right grip on it. If you’re worried your labia are not big/stretchy/voluminous enough to hold on to the Eva II, it may still be held in place by weight or pressure from either your partner’s body, the base of a dildo or harness, or a pair of tight-fitting undies. An example of the perfect harness for holding this vibrator in place is the Ramona harness by Switch Leather Co.

It’s a serviceable scissoring/tribbing vibe. One partner can have it secured by her labia while the other partner grinds against it. Both partners could get into the perfect scissoring angle and then slide it in between. For scissoring, it’s an improvement over the average bullet vibes that are cylindrical, slippery, and/or tend to be a little bigger than Eva. It does, however, prevent full lip lock, so to speak. Compare it to another scissoring vibe.

Vibration quality is better than you would expect for a vibe of this size. Three settings include was that a missed call?, electric toothbrush, and barber’s clippers or to rate by sound (because this vibe is not quiet): indiscrete, high frequency, and rush hour at the hornet’s nest. If you’re a person who regularly uses a vibrator or even needs a vibrator to come, this might not be powerful enough to get you off.

It comes with a neat charging base. There are no ports for the charger, which means no chance of germs or moisture damage. It holds a charge well, but I keep mine on the base when not in use so it’s always ready.

Dame products are designed to bridge the “pleasure gap,” a concept derived from a 2010 study by The National Survey of Sexual Health and Behavior which showed that women reported “less satisfaction with sexual activity than men with less pleasure, less arousal, and fewer orgasms.” Since lesbian sex doesn’t use male orgasms as a measuring stick, the marketing is lost on us.

Yikes. Try not to pity the straights.

If there is a pleasure gap in lesbian sex, it may be more a gap in the amount of time or frequency between orgasms, since lesbian sex often involves taking turns, not in pursuit of pleasure (giving is a pleasure) but in pursuit specifically of orgasm. This means, in strap-on sex at least, the person who is topping is less likely to have a clitoral orgasm from the act of topping. A vibrator that stimulates the clit closes the pleasure gap between partners.

If you love strapping on so much that it is a pleasure in itself, then this vibrator damn well might send you over the edge, even if you prefer a stronger vibe to come. That has been the case for my sweetheart, who now comes while topping every time. It’s also allowed us to have simultaneous orgasms with penetrative sex, which is pretty fun!
