The What’s Underneath Project Uncovers Race and Identity in America

Elisa Goodkind and Lily Mandelbaum, the mother-daughter duo behind StyleLikeU, The What’s Underneath Project have created a powerful video about race and identity in America. For years, the women have worked towards reversing the fashion industry’s destructive beauty standards and inspiring self-acceptance everywhere. Their viral video series, The What’s Underneath Project, has been seen by over 38 million people around the world.

“We believe that justice cannot be served without a continued commitment to radically honest self-reflection and dialogue and your help to amplify the voices in this video can have a great impact in moving this important conversation forward.”

Their second project, “What’s Underneath America,” is a radically honest dialogue that features some of the same women from Style Like U, but focuses on race and racial identity. Watch.
