1.) What video is currently embedded on your profile and why?
A rather hilarious video of my cat slamming himself into a wall to attack a fruit fly. I was recording him for what must have been an hour, attempting to capture the beauty of his antics, and then when it finally happened I was so excited I yelled out a big “YES!” which makes it seem like I enjoy torturing my cat. But really! I was just excited that he finally went for it. I promise. Well… maybe I enjoyed it a little bit too much, but it was pretty funny. And he had knocked over a glass of water onto my laptop earlier that night so I feel justified.
2.) When and where have you met a celebrity?
The closest I’ve ever come to meeting a celebrity was when Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter (of the movie Wet Hot American Summer, which I have an undying love for – Janeane Garofalo!) came to my town and did a stand up routine together. I was recording this hilarious dance jig thing they were doing on stage and Black stopped mid dance, pointed at me, and yelled that recording wasn’t allowed, which by the way I didn’t know at the time.
Ironically I have him shouting at me on video and it is by far one of my favorite things ever. He still signed my DVD case though, so he couldn’t have been too mad.
3.) What lesbian/bi pop culture character are you most like, and why?
Hmm, that’s tough. I’d probably have to say I’m a strange mix between Xena and Gabrielle. Or rather, I try to act more like Xena, but in actuality, I’m more like Gabby, but I share traits with both. I definitely crave adrenaline and action, but I am a hopeless romantic and I try to find the best in people, and I tend to write more than talk, which I guess is a good thing since I’m hoping to get some books published soon!
Oh, and on a side note, that show is totally my root.
4.) What song are you currently singing in the shower?
Haha, well it’s kind of embarrassing… but lately I’ve been rocking out to the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. Particularly “Elephant Love Medley.” My neighbors probably aren’t too happy with it. I’m very loud and not at all a good singer, plus I sing both male and female parts and alter my voice accordingly so it just ends up sounding ridiculous.
5.) What movie star does your pet most resemble?
Oh man, which pet to choose! I have so many… way too many. I’ll focus on the furry ones and not the scaled ones. My male cat Sebastian is fluffy and white with one blue eye and one yellow eye and a pink nose and dainty little pink paws. He’s also a huge drama queen and a self-centered spoiled brat. I’m not sure which movie star he would be, but he is definitely Jack from Will & Grace. It’s a good thing he’s so cute.
My sixty pound half chow half lab female dog Buffy is very clumsy, goofy, and so lovable it’s tough to get mad at her. I’d say she has the most in common with Ellen DeGeneres. Apparently my animals resemble talk show hosts.
