Lauren Graham says there will be no “Gilmore Girls” film

Last Friday night, Lauren Graham appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to talk about her post-Gilmore Girls career, which currently includes her role as Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls on Broadway.

Apparently, it’s hard for so many fans to move past the fact that the show is over, and Graham and co-star Alexis Bledel have moved on.

“You know, for me, it’s over. Because it’s over,” Graham said of playing Lorelai Gilmore. “But it lives on. And so, like, I come to New York and I’m doing a musical, I’m wearing a blonde wig and I have a New York accent, you know I’m doing this thing that’s written in the ’50s and still, like, I walk out of the stage door at night and people are like ‘When’s the Gilmore Girls movie?’ and I’m like, ‘Oh my god! Are you kidding me?'”

It doesn’t help that on April Fool’s Day last week, EW‘s Michael Ausiello utilized his Twitter to help perpetuate the rumor of a movie being greenlit, only for fans to discover it was his little joke for the holiday.

In the past, Graham has been a little more wishy-washy about the idea of a film, not completely saying it’s out of the question, so this will most likely be the most affirmative answer now. The final word: Graham says “It’s over,” and there’s no Gilmore Girls without Lorelai Gilmore.
