Morning Brew – Amber Heard says Angelina Jolie is an inspiration

Good morning! Congrats to the House of Representatives in Hawaii for passing a same-sex marriage bill on Friday!

Amber Heard is werking it on the cover of Company this month. Inside she tells the magazine she was inspired by Angelina Jolie being so out about her sexuality:

“[Angelina Jolie] is an incredible example — just an incredible force in terms of challenging the status quo. I think she talked about [being bisexual] honestly, which I love her for. Honesty is best — staying quiet can be so detrimental.”

Angelina is the OG of forthcoming bisexual actresses. Check out this behind-the-scenes video of Amber’s shoot for Company.

Netflix was given the Corporate Vanguard Award from the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center over the weekend at the center’s annual anniversary gala. Castmembers of Orange is the New Black joined Cindy Holland, VP of original content for Netflix, to accept the award.

Kate McKinnon and Zachary Levi star in a fake movie trailer called Falling for You. It’s like Mr. Wrong with a lot more hitting the floor.

UK reality star Charlotte Crosby (Geordie Shore) has a thing for X Factor‘s Sam Bailey. If Geordie Shore is anything like Jersey Shore, than I’m sure there’s a lot of drunk girl-on-girl happening that is quickly forgotten about the next morning in favor of some guidos and their GTL routines. Atomic Kitten member Natasha Hamilton has joined the cast of Rent in Blackpool. She’ll be playing the super fierce lesbian role of Maureen. She said of the part:

I feel very privileged to be able to play the part, I can’t wait to get going. I’ve never done a role like this before, and I’ll be doing my first ever lesbian kiss. I think it’s going to be lots of fun — acting gets you into lots of different situations and I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the role with Hannah Levane who plays Joanne, and building up some chemistry.

Four lesbian couples are bringing a law suit against their home state of Idaho. Way to get shit done, ladies.

Lady Gaga is serving some real talk in Attitude:

I mean, I am bisexual, I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. I don’t need to -— I’m sorry if this is a bit vulgar — but I don’t need to eat pussy in front of the whole world for people to take me seriously. You can believe it or not, it’s just here, I’m honest. I’m not saying it to be controversial; there you have it, here I am, take it or leave it. I know I am not just a lesbian —- I have a boyfriend —- but all of my friends are in this community.
Stop questioning her, ya’ll. It’s rude.

Nasty Gal profiled Syd Tha Kid as a beauty role model. Syd says of her go-to look:

Nowadays, I pretty much just perform in a white Pro Club and some Golf Wang jeans. It’s really easy to pack. It’s just a bunch of white tees. I don’t have to think about it. I know I’m gonna like how I look. I like how I looked in the [“Dontcha”] video, so I’m gonna look like that.
