Hillary Soprano in ’08

I love this. Hillary Clinton as Tony Soprano, announcing the winner of her campaign song contest (after the jump):

How great are the carrot sticks?! Poor Bill.

Also, is it just me, or does that look like a lesbian couple giggling in the corner? Yeah, I’m probably just wearing my gay goggles again.

Virginia Heffernan, the New York Times critic, isn’t so sure about this “ripoff,” but I agree with one of the commenters on her blog: It’s proof that Hillary can laugh at herself. Also, it’s just cool to reference one of the best TV shows ever.

I can’t say I’m happy about the chosen campaign song though: Celine Dion‘s “You and I.” Sigh. If only it had actually been “Don’t Stop Believin’.” That would have harked back to her hubby’s campaign song, come to think of it (that was Fleetwood Mac’s “Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow”). Oh well. At least I can complain freely, because I actually voted. For Smash Mouth, like Bill said.
