Afternoon Delight: Amber Heard hops on “Autobahn,” the CW still trying to make the “Wonder Woman” prequel “Amazon” happen

Good afternoon everyone!

Happy birthday to Megan Fox, Melanie Lynskey, Tori Spelling, Tracey Gold, Janet Jackson, Debra Winger and out actress Michelle Wolff!

Last night, Grey’s Anatomy star Jessica Capshaw tweeted a double entendre. Or maybe it was just a single entendre.

Capshaw’s counterpart, Sara Ramirez, did some finale teasing of her own:

Are you ready for tonight’s GA finale?

The CW is still plowing ahead with their Wonder Woman prequel Amazon. The network has hired writer Aron Eli Coleite (Heroes) to redevelop the script. CW president Mark Pedowitz confirmed, “We’re waiting for the script to come in; we haven’t seen it yet. We are preparing to pilot it off-cycle should the script be what we want it to be. We do not want to produce something that doesn’t work for that particular character — it is the trickiest of all the DC characters to get done.”

Uma “The Bride” Thurman is set to star as anti-gay activist Anita Bryant in the biopic Anita.

In honor of France legalizing same-sex marriage, tomorrow at 2 pm Troma Entertainment and the Occupy Cannes movement are performing a lesbian wedding ceremony. Actresses Catie Corcoran and Asta Paredes will give a live-action preview of their film Return to Nuke ‘Em High: Volume 1 and then tie the knot in front of the fountain and carousel (located between the Croisette and Promendade Favre le Bret in Cannes.) Actual marriage or dumb publicity stunt? Hmm…

Out actress Amber Heard is joining forces with Zac Efron for the thriller Autobahn. The film, scheduled to begin shooting this fall in Germany, tells the story of “an American backpacker (Efron) hired as a pickup driver for a gang of German drug smugglers. But when a job goes awry, he’s forced to flee from his employers, leading to high-speed chases around Munich. Heard will play his girlfriend.” Oh please, Heard needs to play more that just the “girlfriend” role. I bet she saves the day in the film.

Scarlett Johansson is taking her big talent behind the camera. Johansson will make her feature directorial debut with Truman Capote‘s novel Summer Crossing.

Bisexual actress Nicol Paone (30 Rock, The Big Gay Sketch Show) is greatly entertaining me with her photos and captions from her new VH1 sketch series Stevie TV. Paone captioned this picture, “Happy belated Mother’s Day, Mom! You always said you wanted me to be “more girly.” #stevietv #gettinracy #isthisasketchshow?”

Cate Blanchett has signed on for David Mamet‘s thriller Blackbird. The film is described as “a present-day Hitchcockian nailbiter turning on a secret explanation for the 1963 assassination of U.S. president John F. Kennedy.”

Here’s the first poster for Olivia Wilde and Anna Kendrick‘s new film Drinking Buddies.

Amanda Seyfried is teaming up with Star Trek‘s Chris Pine for Z For Zachariah. The story “follows a teenage girl who lives alone and maintains a farm in the only valley with breathable air in the wake of nuclear war. Her world is turned upside down when two strangers wander in from the forest.” Sounds like a rom-com to me!

If you watched the two-night premiere of So You Think You Can Dance you might have noticed out dancer Sasha Malloy co-choreographing for some of the show’s contestants. Remember when Mallory starred in Uh Huh Her‘s music video for “Wake to Sleep“? Good times.
