Watch Now! Brittney Griner and Adam Lambert talk about being gay and in the spotlight
The GLAAD Awards went down in San Francisco on Saturday and some videos from the ceremony have been released. Wilson Cruz introduced Brittney Griner, who received a Special Recognition Award, and the out WNBA player gave a passionate speech about coming out to her mom when she was in ninth grade.
Singer Adam Lambert tied for Outstanding Music Artist with Frank Ocean but was also winner of the Davidson/Valentini Award, which is “given to a member of the LGBT community who has made a significant difference in promoting equal rights.” He was pretty hilarious and poignant on what everyone wants from someone like him, who is gay and in the spotlight.
Two very deserving recipients indeed.
