Morning Brew – Fri. Nov. 30: Missy Higgins wins Best Female Performer at the ARIAs, Tegan and Sara’s album trailer

Good morning!

Tegan and Sara have released a trailer for their upcoming album, Heartthrob.

Last night Out magazine had a party for their Out 100 and there were a few lesbians in attendance. More went to the after-party at the Dalloway.

Missy Higgins won for Best Female Artist at the ARIA Awards in Australia. She attended with bandmate/producer Butterfly Boucher and played a song from their album, The Old Razzle Dazzle.

Speaking of Aussies, Ruby Rose has released her first single, “Guilty Pleasure.” Unfortunately you can only watch the video if you live in Australia.

June Thomas at Slate wrote about why she doesn’t want to get married. I agree with her on most things but on this one we’ll just have to agree to disagree! I love calling my wife my wife.

Sara Ramirez says Callie and Arizona will have some not-so-tragic moments coming up this season on Grey’s. She told The Hollywood Reporter:

We have some fun, light moments to look forward to,. Maybe some rekindling.

Maybe we can all stop being depressed when watching the show sometime soon.

Sharon Leal is playing a lesbian doctor (what else?) on Person of Interest. Specifically she’s a cardiologist and trauma surgeon who is married to a charity director named Amy and both are part of a blackmail plot on this week’s episode. Apparently One Million Moms hated it because they hate everything good.

Jason Sudekis was hilarious on The Ellen Show yesterday where he divulged his crush on her in the ’90s.

If your mom isn’t so ideal and you’re looking for one during the holidays, the internet has you covered.

If you’ve been following the tragic beating of Mallory Owens, the young lesbian beaten by her girlfriend’s brother on Thanksgiving, there’s been an updated statement released on her behalf in which she says she hopes her attacker will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. You can help donate to her medical bills, which are mounting.
