Morning Brew – Wed. Oct. 31: Sara Gilbert as Jo from “Facts of Life,” De’Borah kills on “The Voice”

Happy Halloween!

Thank you all so much for voting in the slash/femslash Facebook poll. I”m happy to announce that Faberry won!

Brad Pitt is attempting to make up for stealing Angelina Jolie away from the lesbians by donating $100,000 to the HRC in effort to support the four states voting for marriage equality next week. In all truthfulness, they are seriously great actors and philanthropists, and we’ll always have Gia.

Rumor has it Evan Rachel Wood is now married to actor Jamie Bell. Jamie, you must now donate $100,000 to the LGBT charity of your choice.

Carmen de la Pica Morales (aka Sarah Shahi) is joining Chicago Fire for at least five episodes. Now I was really hoping she’d be a love interest for Leslie Shay, but it looks like she’s after her roommate, Severeid.

Megan Fox likes to talk to dolphins. Is this some Jenny Schecter-manatee shit?

Lily Tomlin was also on the show yesterday. She’s such a classy woman!

Michelle Ang talked with Celebuzz about playing lesbian character Sophia on Underemployed. A tidbit:

I remember one of the earlier scenes, one of the directors shouting out, “You look like two straight girls making out,” which was terrible. We’re all like, “Oh god, I’m not doing my job properly.” But, yeah, I’m really glad I got the opportunity to do it. It was challenging in a really good way.

I am loving her and that show!

Jack & Diane director Bradley Rust Gay talked with The Huffington Post about the inspiration for his lesbian-themed film.

I had written a film about two male characters, one who was gay and one who was straight, as a short film when I was in school. That film was more about someone having a sexual experience that he wasn’t expecting with a friend and wondering if that made him gay. Right after I did that story, I moved to New York with my wife (director So Yong Kim). I was in the East Village and I met two girls. They looked exactly like the characters from my short film. I couldn’t help myself so I stopped them and talked to them. My wife and I were just embarking on making are first films and we were primarily thinking of working with non-actors, so I thought they’d be a good subject for a film. I left to make a film in Iceland and when I finished, three years had gone by. This was in the days before email and when I called them their numbers had changed and I was never able to get in touch with them.

Last night on The Voice, out contestant De’Borah Garner slayed with “You Found Me.” She’s moving on to the finals on Team Christina!
