Afternoon Delight: Lifetime developing a Clarice Starling series, lesbian prom couples on The Huffington Post

Good afternoon!

Happy birthday to Annette Bening, Melanie Brown and Melissa Etheridge!

Anna Paquin and the True Blood cast are in yet another TB season 5 teaser trailer. I bet if we watch all the teaser trailers back to back it will comprise the show’s entire fifth season which debuts Sunday, June 10 on HBO.

Twilight‘s Ashley Green teamed up with Harry Potter star Tom Felton for the horror film The Apparition. If you feel like being creeped out watch the trailer below.

The role of Clarice Starling in Silence of the Lambs garnered Jodie Foster her second Academy Award. Lifetime is now developing a Clarice Starling series called Clarice. (Clever title.) Clarice will follow a young Agent Starling soon after she graduates from the FBI academy and begins her career. Who do you think should be cast as Clarice Starling? My picks would be either Claire Danes (though she’s probably too busy working on Showtime’s Homeland) or a young Katee Sackhoff.

Not surprisingly, the organization One Million Moms (who threatened to boycott JCPenny for hiring Ellen DeGeneres to be their spokesperson) is now up in arms over Marvel Comics’ gay wedding. They are probably just angry that Northstar didn’t send them an invitation.

The Huffington Post created a photospread of gay students attending their 2012 proms with their same-sex dates. My favorite couple is Daunasia and Alyssa.

Tomorrow night at 8 p.m. the Hollywood Laugh Factory is hosting a free comedy event in support of the Trevor Project. The show’s lineup includes Fortune Feimster, Tom Arnold, Erin Foley, Drew Droege, Ant and Justin Martindale. To attend the event, make sure you RSVP.

Also on Wednesday at 8 p.m., the Laugh Factory in Long Beach (151 South Pine Avenue) is hosting their monthly Come Out Laughing comedy show featuring out comedians Jackie Monahan, Jason Dudey, Tammy Jo Dearen and me! Apparently the Laugh Factory loves the gays.

Chely Wright will be performing at the City Winery (155 Varick Street) in New York, NY on Saturday, June 2 at 8 p.m. If you’re part of Wright’s fan club you can request a meet-and-greet with the out country superstar.

Les/Bi Photo of the day!

Comedian Margaret Cho transformed into Kim Jong-il, who went undercover as a waiter on the Season 6 finale of 30 Rock. This was the role Cho was born to play!
