Morning Brew – Thurs. May 24: Portia and Ellen on “Rachael Ray,” Jane Lynch narrates Obama’s LGBT video

Good morning!

Portia de Rossi was on The Rachael Ray Show yesterday and they skyped with Ellen DeGeneres on air. They talked all about being vegans and how if you give up the calories of cheese, “there’s more room for cocktails. You can drink more!” Never thought about that. I might be able to do this vegan thing after all!

Get some recipes and watch a behind-the-scenes video with Portia on Rachael’s site.

Did you know that Naya Rivera is the new face of Proactiv? I wonder if they are trying to reach the lesbian crowd.

Kalinda and Lana’s recent hot sex scene made a list of “awkward sex scenes” over at The Huffington Post. I say neigh, especially compared to the ones from Girls and Shameless. (The video at the link is definitely NSFW!)

Hysteria comes out this week and it is directed by out lesbian Tanya Wexler. Over at Interview magazine, Wexler said that the models for star Maggie Gyllenhaal’s character are women who had lesbian dalliances:

…we looked at Katharine Hepburn, from an acting standpoint. But also Jane Addams of Hull House, in Chicago.

However, Maggie’s character doesn’t seem to be gay, as Tanya describes the film as a “romantic comedy,” which also happens to be about a vibrator.

Jane Lynch is the voice of the official Obama for the LGBT community video, but the President says a lot of great things himself.

The New York Times asks the age-old question, “What do two brides wear to their wedding!?” The answer “Whatever they want.” Some wear dresses, some wear suits — and no one, by default, is considered a groom.

A reader tipped us off to a hot chefbian that you wouldn’t kick out of your kitchen! Nicole Lou is a contestant on Cat Cora’s Around the World in 80 Plates. You can also find her on Tumblr. (Thanks Melissa!)

Tonight on Punk’d, Heather Morris punks Cody Simpson, Joe Jonas and Emma Roberts. Will it also be revealed Glee punk’d us with the “Graduation” episode and Brittany did graduate after all?
