Afternoon Delight: Heather Morris covers “Seventeen,” Lady Gaga and Adele rack up AMA noms

Good afternoon!

Congratulations to Lady Gaga and Adele for racking up the most American Music Award nominations. Adele received four nominations while Gaga received three. Both ladies are competing for Artist of the Year, Pop or Rock Music Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Pop or Rock Album. The 39th annual American Music Awards will take place on Sunday, November 20 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles and will air live on ABC.

Glee‘s Heather Morris is on the cover of Seventeen magazine. In the November issue, Morris talks about the passing of her father, how she is willing to give up her career for her real-life boyfriend (seriously?) and reveals that she has, in fact, kissed a girl off-screen. Morris said, “Yeah. Mostly for guys’ attention when I was in high school. One time I did it when I was curious with a friend, but she wasn’t my best friend.” Well, that’s not the sexiest girl kissing girl story, but I’ll take what I can get.

Reminder, tonight bisexual actress Evan Rachel Wood will stop by Chelsea Lately and tomorrow night Gloria Steinem and out comedian Fortune Feimster will take over Chelsea Handler’s stage.

A tousled Kate Winslet is on the cover November’s Marie Claire France. (Je vous aime, Kate!)

New York magazine highlights Amy Poehler‘s 30 different alter egos from her days with the Upright Citizens Brigade comedy troupe. These are my two personal favorites:

And speaking of Poehler, Moviefone has composed their list of the sexiest comediennes in movies. Who made the cut? Poehler (duh!), Anna Faris, Tina Fey, Kristen Wiig, Christina Applegate, Cameron Diaz, Elizabeth Banks, Isla Fisher, Jennifer Aniston, Leslie Mann, Lucy Punch, Olivia Munn, Rashida Jones and Zooey Deschanel.

Are there any additional ladies you’d like to see on the list? I nominate Jane Lynch and Maya Rudolph. Funny, you don’t typically see male comics rated on their basis of their “sexiness,” do you?

The L Word and Laurel Holloman fans should check out her online art gallery. My favorite is her “Enlightened” canvas.

Tonight, k.d. lang will take the stage at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, TX and tomorrow night the Indigo Girls will be headlining the Beacon Theatre in New York City at 8 p.m.
