Afternoon Delight: Beverly McClellan on the cover of “She,” Emma Watson does “Vogue”

Happy birthday to Jenny Shimizu! The model (and Angelina Jolie‘s former lover) turns 44 today.

Lady Gaga has a gaggle of little monsters that love her, and so does singer Justin Timberlake. Timberlake worked with Gaga on the season finale of SNL and told Playboy (I only read it for the articles), “OK, let’s talk about Lady Gaga for a minute. She’s a force. Beyond awesome. I mean, she’s legitimately talented. I’d love to see her come out with another record a couple of years from now that’s completely different, maybe something Tori Amos could do.” Yes, Gaga is a force and she won’t stop forcing her music into my eardrums. That reminds me: I need to buy a neti pot.

The Voice‘s Beverly McClellan is this month’s SHE magazine cover girl.

To learn more about the out rocker download the magazine for free. (And feel free to turn to page 16 to check out my interview with She.)

Speaking of cover girls, Emma Watson graces the cover of Vogue‘s July 2011 issue. The Harry Potter star sips a spot of tea while discussing her fashion line with People Tree and pondering a Muggle life.

Photographer Annie Leibovitz has taken pictures of everyone from John Lennon to Queen Elizabeth. In honor of Leibovitz’s endless work,Vanity Fair highlighted 12 of her works in a “Frame, Set and Match” slideshow.

The Daily Beast columnist Michelle Goldberg dug up some dirt on anti-gay Minnesota Congresswoman and presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann. If you’re interested, read about the 2005 incident where Bachmann called the police when a lesbian questioned Bachmann’s anti-gay views. (p.s. What is wrong with people?)

If you’re in Florida check out the The Third Annual Lesbian Play Festival. Hunter Valentine will be rocking out Columbus Pride this weekend. The band will hit the stage Saturday, June 18 at 11 a.m. at Goodale Park (120W. Goodale Blvd. Columbus, Ohio).

The Indigo Girls are in New York! (I’m not sure why that warranted an exclamation mark since I’m in Los Angeles and, unfortunately, will not see them.) Tonight the legendary duo will perform at the Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown New York. Tomorrow (June 18) they will be at the Westhampton Beach in Westhampton Beach, New York and Saturday (June 19) they will jamming out at the Clearwater Festival Croton Point Park in Hudson, New York.

Speaking of legendary rockstars, tonight k.d. Lang is performing at the Luminato Festival in Toronto, Ont.

And since two is always better than one, check out the Topps Twins tonight at 7 p.m. at The Green Room in Flagstaff, Ariz. in celebration of Flagstaff Pride.

Yesterday, Killola‘s frontwoman Lisa Rieffel (Girl Trash) introduced me to the lezzy band Maria Sweet. Check out their music video for “Plain Night.”

Thanks Lisa!
