Afternoon Delight: “Grey’s” spoilers, Lady Gaga on “SNL”

Good Afternoon! Happy birthday to the one and only Cher! The longtime LGBT supporter turns 65 today. Damn, she looks good!

And a very happy birthday also to the Go-Go‘s Jane Wiedlin. The bisexual rocker is 53.

If you believe in this whole “end of the world/Rapture thing,” then today is my last AND ever! (I have mixed feelings about this.) I personally don’t think that the world will end tomorrow, but I have been wrong before. Just ask my wife.

The Huffington Post suggests that while you’re hiding from the locusts you should watch out writer/comedian Jill Kushner and Cheri Oteri’s (Saturday Night Live) new FunnyOrDie video about online dating. The video features To Catch a Predator’s Chris Hansen. I love that show.

W Magazine has dedicated their June 2011 issue to “Fantastic Women.” So why is Tom Hanks on the cover? The issue features articles on Julia Roberts, Penelope Cruz, Naomi Watts, Rachel McAdams, Alicia Keys and Scarlett Johansson.

Attention horror lovers: (this means you, Stacie Ponder) Hollywood is remaking the cult classic Carrie. I hope they don’t destroy it.

Big Love writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has been hired to update 1976 horror film (based on Stephen King‘s novel) for modern audiences. Does that mean it’s going to be a reality show about the prom? In the original movie Sissy Spacek starred in the title role as a high school outcast with telekinetic powers. Who do you think should be drenched in animal blood in the reboot? I vote for Elle Fanning.

The lovely Sheetal Sheth‘s new film, Stalemate, is making the festival rounds. This time my favorite gay-for-pay actress is playing straight. Bummer. Sheth stars as a businesswoman who must choose between two men. I think Sheth should say goodbye to both guys and run off with Lisa Ray instead. Who’s with me? Check out a video clip of the film on Facebook.

I’m super jealous of NewNowNext’s John Polly who had the opportunity to interview one of my idols, Yoko Ono. Ono, who is is 78 years old, discusses her never ending music career and her impatience with the “straight man’s world.” Join the club, sister!

For those of you in a New York state of mind or if you actually live in New York City, check out the Wild Women of Comedy showcase at Carolines on Broadway on June 8. Out comedians Jessica Kirson, Poppi Kramer and Exiene Lofgrenk celebrate pride month with a fantastic night of comedy.

Variety reports that Bridesmaids topped Thor this week at the box office. (To clarify, Bridesmaids earned more during the middle of the week then the action film.) On Tuesday, Bridesmaids netted $3.4 million vs. Thor‘s $3.1 million. I must confess that I personally sat in the theater on Tuesday starting at 6 AM and watched Bridesmaids on a loop.

The Indigo Girls are touring this summer and their first stop is a free concert at Harborfest in Norfolk, VA on June 11. Check out their entire tour schedule and if you haven’t seen them perform live then get your ass to a show as soon as possible!

As I finish up my Grey’s Anatomy season finale recap, the show’s creator Shonda Rhimes is dishing on which cast members will return next season. Check out the spoilers here.

On Monday night (May 23) Cynthia Nixon stars in the HBO’s movie Too Big To Fail. The film is based on New York Times columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin’s book of the same name about the 2008 financial crisis.

Tonight actress Jennifer Lawrence (Hunger Games, Winter’s Bone) will appear on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and Monday night Wanda Sykes will sit down with Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Lesbian/ Bi Video of the Day:

Tomorrow night, Lady Gaga will be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live’s season finale, hosted by Justin Timberlake. Check out the below promo clip which I find to be more awkward than amusing.
